Dr. Edwin Jerry S. Tamayo has a Ph.D. in Medical Genetics and Nutritional Biochemistry, and M.S. in Biology with emphasis on Cellular Physiology. He is a well-sought resource lecturer on lifestyle and wellness in Texas, Hawaii, California, Canada, and in other places. His lectures emphasize clear understanding of the physiological and biochemical aspects of health and wellness. His scientific studies focused on the genetic, diet and lifestyle factors of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and obesity. For 18 years before coming to the U.S., he taught Human Physiology, Genetics, and Biochemistry in the Philippines. Since 2006, he has been teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Nutrition and Diet Therapy at South Texas College, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Texas-RGV, and at the Cooper Wellness and Disease Prevention Center at Edinburg, Texas. Once a month, he delivers lectures on wellness and vegan nutrition at the Better Living and Community Center, Edinburg, Texas. He has certifications in Food, Health and Nutrition, and Complete Health Improvement Program (CHIP).
